Kevin Gausman to record 8+ strikeouts Along with taking the Over on 11.5 total runs, we’ll focus on a couple of Blue Jays players in today’s same-game parlay. Schneider has been a pleasant surprise for Toronto since joining the club in early August, ranking second on the team in RBI and third in total bases last month while batting an incredible .
426. The second baseman has multiple bases in six of his last eight outings and should snag a couple more today. Gausman hasn’t had his best stuff of late but still remains one of the best strikeout pitchers in the majors with 202 Ks over 155 1/3 innings. The right-hander has recorded at least seven punchouts in seven of his last nine starts and is coming up against the Rockies, who strike out more than only two other clubs in the majors with 9.47 Ks per game. That said, I like Gausman to sit down at least eight batters today. : Covers may receive advertising commissions for visits to a sportsbook or betting siteThe Blue Jays once again come into this game as the chalk, opening at -237 on the moneyline and climbing as high as -275 at some books by this morning. Everyone loves a good underdog pick but Toronto’s edge is too great to ignore. Colorado’s win last night was more of a shock than anything as it was the hosts’ second victory in their last 12 games. Going back even further, the Rockies have a mere five wins over their last 22 contests. Despite averaging 8.50 runs in this series, the Rockies had actually been slumping offensively with just 3.70 runs per game across their previous 10 contests and scoring more than four runs just twice over that span. While I don’t necessarily expect the Blue Jays to hold them to just four runs today, there’s a fair chance the Rockies bats regress to the mean against Gausman. Today’s total opened at 11.5 runs and as discussed above, I’m definitely going with the Over. Both the pitching matchup and the altitude at Coors Field should factor into plenty of runs, and we’ve also seen the Jays cash the Over in six of their last seven contests.Looking to bet on some Jays action?
