The Toronto Blue Jays are now rumored to be one of the 'longshot' teams to land superstar free agent Juan Soto. While there has been no indication that Soto has eliminated them from the race, Toronto is believed to be headed in that direction.If the Blue Jays miss on Soto, they'll need to pivot to an emergency backup plan. Part of this plan would be finding an outfielder to replace what they would have gotten with Soto.
'Continuing with our outfield search, there is one elite outfielder whose name should come second to Soto's on the offseason market. Luis Robert is a potential five-tool player. But with all the injuries that have demolished his career thus far, he hasn't had much of a chance to prove it,' Mountz wrote. 'In another injury-hampered season, Robert slashed .224/.278/.379 with 14 home runs. But in 2023, we got a glimpse of Robert at his best.
