Blue Jackets' back-to-back reduced to one game by Nashville water main issue that caused flooding at Bridgestone Arena
The NHL announced the postponement Friday, citing “ongoing issues caused by a water main break that has significantly impacted the event level of the arena.”The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, catch a break not having to play on the road less than 24 hours after facing New York in a game scheduled to start an hour later than usual to account for TNT’s protected 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. time slot for a nationally televised game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers.
The Blue Jackets would’ve arrived early morning Saturday after flying to Nashville following the game. The Predators were also scheduled to play back-to-back games Friday and Saturday, but both were postponed by the flooding issue.
