Blood Psalms: The cast members revealed that they were intrigued and confused by their scripts at some point but trusted Qubeka
Created by the geniuses behind the movie Knuckle City, Jahmil Qubeka and Layla Swart, the Showmax series is a solid star-studded cast of all time.A red carpet was recently rolled out for all the stars of the show for its South African launch just a day before it premiered. Taking place in Sandton, the launch sure looked like a soiree, with young and legendary superstars gathered in one place.The series was first showcased at the Dubai expo in October last year.
The cast members revealed that they were intrigued and confused by their scripts at some point but trusted Qubeka.“Jahmil believes it, so this is what we are going to do, and the continent and the world must agree,” said Mlotshwa. On the red carpet, radio host and actress Thando Thabethe, dressed by Orapeleng Modutle, looked gorgeous in a shimmering grey boob-tube dress.She dubbed the series “the most ambitious project to come out of Showmax”.
“This is not anybody else’s story, but our story, so we shouldn’t compare it to Black Panther or Avengers. I think this is groundbreaking for us. As Showmax and MultiChoice, we are proud that we stood behind this. Every frame shows how skilful we are. I am proud of the number of South Africans who were given a chance, and the Safta winners that we are going to be seeing.”
