The ending of Blood of Zeus season 1 teased the inclusion of Hades and the return of Seraphim, Heron's half-brother, to the show's story. The first season, which aired on Netflix in 2020, saw Heron defeat Seraphim and stop the giant assault on Mount Olympus.
The rest of the show's story entirely surrounds the Eleusinian Stone, more specifically the trials and tribulations various gods, heroes, and monsters will undergo to achieve it. Gaia keeps the Eleusinian Stone in a place called the Hidden Realm, locked away behind three deadly challenges. Gaia states that only someone worthy enough to surpass the challenges and reach the Stone is equally worthy enough to wield it, thus ensuring their rule over Olympus.
Hades tearfully apologizes to Heron before stabbing the demigod in the chest, unwilling to return to his awful life... This ties to a common story thread of Blood of Zeus season 2. Early in the show, it was revealed to Heron that someone had snuck into the lair of the Fates and cut Heron's life cord. This meant that Heron was destined to die, should he not find the right path to prevent this. As it turned out in Blood of Zeus season 2's ending, Heron may not have done enough to prevent his death, leaving the question of who cut his life cord as much a mystery as Heron's fate itself.
What The Return Of The Titans Means For Blood Of Zeus Season 3 Typhon Is Not The Only Enemy Of The Gods To Return In Blood Of Zeus Season 2 If Typhon's return was not threatening enough to the splintered pantheon of Olympus, the Titans also returned thanks to Gaia's actions in Blood of Zeus season 2's finale. Like the giants, the Titans were enemies of the gods before the events of the show.
