Listen: Blink182 releases 50-second single GenerationalDivide
Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Matt Skiba of blink-182 attend KROQ Weenie Roast 2018 at StubHub Center on May 12, 2018 in Carson, Calif.gets straight to the point in their latest release, "Generational Divide," which clocks in at exactly 50 seconds long.
The tune, released on Friday also comes with a video of the band playing in a concert poster-covered room. “Is it better, is it better now?/Are we better now, are we better now?” Mark Hoppus sings against the exploding drums and guitars. “All we needed was needed was a life line/We swore we’d be better than the last time/Donate, tell me that you’re alright/I’m not the generational divide," Matt Skiba mirrors.
"Generational Divide" is the latest of the band's short songs. In 2017, they released the 35-second "Can't Get You More Pregnant," and a year earlier both “Built This Pool” and “Brohemian Rhapsody” from their 2016 Grammy-nominated album
