The charity are looking to rehome shih tzu Penny and Jack Russell terrier Sandy, and are seeking patient owners who can help build their confidence
Freelance reporter and late editorand another pooch who acts like her guide dog and rarely leaves her side after it rescued the pair.
Inseparable shih tzu Penny, seven, and Jack Russell terrier Sandy, 10, were in poor condition when they were rescued by the RSPCA branch in Saint Columb, Cornwall. Sandy and Penny have flourished since being taken in by the animal charity and it is trying to find them patient owners who can build their confidence and slowly introduce them to sights and sounds.Sammy Howard, from RSPCA Cornwall, said: “Penny is such a sweetheart and is more confident than her pal, even though she has restricted vision. She doesn’t let this hold her back and has a real zest for life.
“Sandy is her favourite fur-iend and acts almost like a guide dog, helping Penny get around. Penny is never far from her pal’s side. “When they first arrived with us, Sandy was incredibly anxious and wouldn’t let anyone touch her. After about a week we managed, slowly, to gain her trust and she’s really started to come out of her shell. As Penny is so sociable, she helps Sandy with her confidence.”The pair would be best suited to a quiet home with no other pets, or with older, calm children.know you they are so affectionate and will give you lots of love and kisses you could possibly want.
