The Blu-Ray release of Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War has been announced, and the home video release is set to feature some exclusive content.
The first cour of Bleach The Thousand-Year Blood War is headed to Blu-ray in Japan, and it's now been confirmed that the new release will feature some exclusive content focusing on an overlooked Quincy villain.
The official Twitter account for the Bleach anime revealed that the Blu-ray set, which will be released in Japan on April 26, will feature a special animation focusing on the Sternritter "Q", a character known as Berenice Gabrielli, who appeared in the fifth episode of Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War. The scene is said to feature new dialog written by Bleach's creator, Tite Kubo that wasn't present in the original manga.
While this may be among the first new scenes that viewers of The Thousand-Year Blood War will see, it's not the only content being created by Kubo just for the anime. It was already announced by Kubo via interviews that the second cour, or batch of episodes, will feature at least one fight that he was forced to cut from the Bleach manga, although he offered no clues as to what this fight might be.
Although it may be a while before Western fans have a chance to see this new content, the very existence of it is rather promising to those who hope Bleach will continue to expand its final storyline, building up characters and enhancing scenes to be superior to how they were in the manga.Source: Bleach Twitter
