On Tuesday, Jed Wallace, owner of Texas-based crisis PR firm Street Relations Inc., filed a defamation lawsuit against actress Blake Lively in Hays County, Texas. This lawsuit stems from Lively's December civil complaint against her ' It Ends With Us ' co-star, Justin Baldoni . In her complaint, Lively alleges that Wallace was used by publicists working with Baldoni to orchestrate a smear campaign against her on social media.
She claims these publicists weaponized a digital army to create and spread disparaging content, making it appear authentic on various platforms.Wallace vehemently denies any involvement in the alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, or smear campaign. He and his PR firm, represented by Jackson Walker LLP, assert that Lively's accusations have caused significant reputational harm, including emotional distress, loss of business opportunities, and financial damages exceeding $1 million. Consequently, they are seeking punitive damages of at least $6 million.Lively's legal team, in response, argues that Wallace's lawsuit is a transparent attempt to silence her after she spoke out against sexual harassment. They maintain that the lawsuit is a publicity stunt and retaliation for her initial complaint filed with the California Civil Rights Department. While acknowledging the dismissal of Lively's deposition petition against Wallace, her legal team asserts their commitment to holding him accountable in federal court.
