Baldoni’s character, Ryle Kincaid, has a small role in the sequel — but as Variety pointed out, Baldoni owns the rights to both of Hoover’s books, which would make it difficult for Lively to take on the sequel without his involvement.
“There were two edits and the studio went with a more feminine edit,” a studio insider told Page Six.But that was allegedly news to Baldoni, according to Variety’s sources, who said the “Jane the Virgin” alum thought Lively “ad libbed” that scene.It has grossed over $200 million at the worldwide box office, but because of the Lively-Baldoni drama, that might not be enough to guarantee a sequel.
