Blade and Spider-Man fight Venom and Morbius in epic fan art that sees the MCU and Sony universes collide.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe meets Sony’s Spider-Man Universe as Blade and Spider-Man battle Morbius and Venom in a piece of fan art. Following the release of 2008’s Iron Man, the MCU began to expand with the introduction of Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow—the original Avengers who would assemble in the 2012 film.

Last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home—which brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men into the MCU via the multiverse—is now Sony’s highest-grossing movie of all time. As Holland’s webslinger continues to thrive in the MCU, Sony has attempted to develop its Spider-Man Universe without him focusing on anti-heroes/villains in Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Morbius. Sony is developing several other spinoffs including Kraven the Hunter, El Muerto, and Madame Web.

It’s long been confirmed that two-time Oscar winner Ali is inheriting the role of Blade from Wesley Snipes. Although his voice can be heard in Eternals’ post-credits scene, Blade isn't scheduled to be released until November 3, 2023. That said, the vampire hunter may never have to hunt Dr. Michael Morbius. The living vampire's film grossed just over $163 million worldwide and was met with brutal reviews from critics, holding a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 17%.

While Sony may not greenlight a Morbius 2, the film did tease his future as a member of the Sinister Six. In Morbius’ problematic credits scenes, Vulture seemingly dropped into Sony’s universe from the MCU. Michael Keaton’s character sought out Morbius to help him find and kill a Spider-Man . Despite being a relatively good guy, Michael Morbius agreed. Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom may have dropped into the MCU for a couple of credits scenes .
