Tracey Simmonds was found responsible for the death of a friend, Jeremy 'Jez' Fitzsimmons, who she stabbed four times with a screwdriver
A woman who killed her childhood friend failed to show up to be sentenced at court, with a warrant now issued for her arrest.
Simmonds, 48, stabbed Mr Fitzsimmons four times with a screwdriver in 2007 after he had already been knocked over and stabbed by James 'Jimmy' Walton. He appeared to make a full recovery but two years later attended A&E with severe gastric issues, at which point doctors found a previously undiscovered injury.Mr Fitzsimmons went on to die from peritonitis - an infection of the inner lining of the abdomen.
Mr Fitzsimmons was invited in and the mood was jovial, but when Walton returned home there was a change in atmosphere, the court heard. Walton and Simmonds began whispering among themselves, and Walton ordered Mr Fitzsimmons out of his flat. As Mr Fitzsimmons got up to leave, Walton pushed him back down and stabbed him in the torso. Simmonds joined in the attack with a screwdriver causing four puncture wounds to his torso and back.
