Blackpool car parks to introduce price hikes during popular events like the Air Show and Illuminations Switch On
Blackpool could be set to introduce dynamic pricing policies at some council owned car parks in a bid to make more revenue out of its most popular events.
Dynamic pricing, which is where prices increase in response to higher demand, would also help fund many of the town’s free events. Blackpool Council chief executive Neil Jack said: “During big events such as the Air Show people are willing to park on double yellow lines, even though they know they will get a fine, in order to get as close as possible to the event.“Others are willing to park further away and use public transport to get to the event.
