This marks the 16th edition of the outdoor event and the second time Wrigley Field has hosted the Winter Classic, with the last encounter taking place in 2009. It's also the first rematch in the history of the game, as the Blues defeated the Blackhawks 4-1 in the 2017 Winter Classic at Busch Stadium.
