Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's big reveal features surprise MCU return
, Marvel fans thought they'd solved the mystery of the new Black Panther before the release ofWhat they might not have expected was that the sequel's big reveal would also feature a surprise MCU return. To dig into that though, we need to go into someMarvel StudiosLet's cut to the chase because, as expected, Shuri is the new Black Panther in the MCU by the end of. However, the path she takes to it isn't as straightforward as just accepting her new role.
She takes it and accesses the ancestral plane, likely expecting to see Ramonda given that T'Challa saw his father there or even perhaps T'Challa. But Shuri doesn't see either of them as it's actually Killmonger there to greet her, marking Michael B Jordan's surprise return to the MCU. When Shuri and Namor come face-to-face in the final battle, it appears as though Shuri has taken her cousin's advice to heart. She's all set to kill Namor in retribution for his part in her mother's death, but before she strikes the fatal blow, Shuri finally sees Ramonda in the ancestral plane.
