NYC Parks is hosting “Black History Month Tribute: His & Her Story” on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pelham Fritz Recreation Center . Brother Jerome Hunter of LaRocque Bey School of African Dance and Theatre will kick off the event and Ms. Lorry Francois will lead participants in an African Dance class.The Actors Theatre Workshop is hosting a reading and discussion with Artistic Director Thurman E. Scott on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cultural Caravan Productions, Inc., The Bronx County Historical Society, The Bronx African American History Project, and the Eta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® are a screening of Louise Dente’s award-winning, hosted at the NYPL Bronx Library Center on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 3 p.m. to 7p.m.

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander is hosting a discussion on the Economic Impact of Black Empowerment on Tuesday, Feb. 28 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building . The discussion will highlight obstacles and opportunities to financial empowerment for Black New Yorkers, including how the City of New York can open and strengthen pathways to prosperity.
