The wreckage of a military helicopter involved in a mid-air collision with a passenger jet that killed all 67 people on both aircraft was recovered Thursday from the Potomac River, federal officials said. Additional parts were also recovered from the American Airlines plane that was bound for Reagan National Airport when it struck the UH-60 Black Hawk on Jan. 29, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a statement.
Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas. U.S. Figure Skating said that 28 people on board the flight were connected to the sport. The helicopter had three on board and was on a training mission from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, officials have said. The NTSB is working to determine the cause of the collision.
