Black Adam premiered on October 21, and is the latest installment in the DC Extended Universe . The film marked Dwayne Johnson's official introduction to the DCEU as Teth Adam after he was first tied to the role back in 2007.
Black Adam follows Teth Adam, an ancient Egyptian who was bestowed with the powers of the gods. However, after being corrupted, he was imprisoned for 5,000 years. He has now served his sentence, though, and he returns to the present day when he is confronted by the world's modern heroes including the Justice Society of America.
Oh my God, it is so frustrating. You work so hard, but look, we understand that this ending and this dream, this family dream that we had to bring to life, we knew that it was going to have an effect on the fans that were just like, ‘Oh my God!’ We heard them begging for it for so long. We’ve been wanting it for so long. It’s disappointing that it leaks. You hope that the fans that are so passionate about it really do their best to block it out so that they can go and get the movie and enjoy it.
What Cavill's Return Means For DCEU Future While it is disappointing that the surprise was ruined, the fact that Cavill's return is confirmed has still excited many. Cavill has been the DCEU's Superman since 2013. However, he hasn't appeared in a new DCEU film on the big screen since Justice League in 2017. Hence, his return has raised questions about what it means for the DCEU. The major development that could come out of Cavill's return is Man of Steel 2.
Man of Steel 2 doesn't have a writer or director attached to it, so it may be a while before it becomes a reality. The other major change that Cavill's return could bring to the DCEU is a Justice League 2. While the first Justice League was a flop, there are tentative hopes for a Justice League 2, given that Superman and Black Adam are both members of the superhero team in the comics.
