Another key issue surrounding the Merge is the fate of Ethereum’s proof-of-work forks . Will they capture a significant chunk of Ethereum’s market share or will they become irrelevant? “I just don't think at the end of the day that there's going to be enough support for [Ethereum] proof-of-work anymore,” Di Iorio told CoinDesk.
