Alabama State Representative, April Givan, has declared her candidacy for Mayor of Birmingham, emphasizing her focus on addressing crime, urban decay, and population decline. Givan highlights these issues as the 'three Ps': people, protection, and progress, stating her commitment to improving the lives of Birmingham residents.
Howard Koplowitz | [email protected]“The city of Birmingham needs to go back to being the Magic City. It is no longer the Magic City. It has lost its luster,” Givan said Tuesday.
“I am running for several reasons. I call it the three Ps: the people, the protection as well as progress,” said Givan. As mayor, Givan said she would dispel the notion of Birmingham as a “Tale of Two Cities” split between prosperity and poverty.
