The opposition has said the government should be 'going further' than refusing and cancelling visas of anyone who incites discord, following pro-Palestinian rallies in Australia's two largest cities over the death of a Hezbollah leader on the weekend.

"It draws the immediate attention of our security agencies. There is a higher level of scrutiny if anyone is on a visa," he said in a statement on Sunday. "These are despicable and reprehensible acts to see people celebrating the life of a terrorist and promoting the values or ideals of a terrorist organisation," he told ABC News.
Dave Sharma, Liberal Senator and former ambassador to Israel, questioned on Sky News Australia why these protests were allowed to happen"week after week". Mr Sharma flagged people had a right to demonstrate, but it should not occur weekly, happen in the middle of a city and cause disruptions to businesses and lives.
