President Rob Blalock will become CEO effective Jan. 1, while current CEO Jim Gorrie will become executive chairman of the company, and founder and chairman Miller Gorrie will continue to serve as chairman of the Gorrie Legacy Trust.“A representative of the Gorrie family will always serve on the trust’s board to ensure that the company continues to operate by the principles and values they’ve established,” the company said in an announcement.
Blalock has spent 26 years with Brasfield & Gorrie, serving in preconstruction and project management positions. He was appointed as president in 2022. “I know I have big shoes to fill as I follow Jim, whose leadership has been tremendously important to me throughout my career at Brasfield & Gorrie,” Blalock said. “Jim followed in his dad’s footsteps by prioritizing treating our clients and subcontractors the way we want to be treated. He also set the tone for collaboration across the company. It’s a huge privilege to carry forward the foundation laid by past generations.
“The company is in good hands,” said Miller Gorrie. “I have every confidence that Rob will continue to uphold the values and foundation of Brasfield & Gorrie, and the Gorrie Legacy Trust ensures our stability for the long term.”
