A death investigation is underway after a young male was found in the front yard of a Norwood home early Tuesday. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Damein Barber. He was 19 and lived in Birmingham.
A death investigation is underway after a young male was found in the front yard of a Norwood home early Tuesday.
A North Precinct officer was on patrol when, about 12:40 a.m., he spotted a person down in the the 1600 block of 27th Street North. The coroner’s office said Barber has sustained a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the manner of his death are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Birmingham detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
