A 54-year-old Birmingham man was killed and a 46-year-old Trussville man was injured early Friday morning when the pickup truck they were in left the highway and became airborne in Marengo County, Alabama.
A 54-year-old Birmingham man was killed and a Trussville man was injured when the pickup truck they were in became airborne after leaving the highway early Friday morning in Marengo County, authorities said.
James W. Evans, 54, was driving the 2023 Ford F-150 around 3:30 a.m. Friday when the truck left the U.S. 80, went across a private drive and became airborne before landing, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Cpl. Reginal King. Evans, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash about six miles west of Uniontown, was taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis, where he died of his injuries.
