A Jefferson County grand jury indicted 25-year-old Stephen D’Mitri Goldman on a charge of reckless manslaughter, according to court records.

A Birmingham man has been indicted in the 2023 death of his son who found a gun and fatally shot himself.

Small received a 12-month suspended sentence and was ordered to take a gun safety class and attend counseling.Birmingham 911 received call at 12:55 a.m. that Friday Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service transported Kayden to Children’s of Alabama where he was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. Kayden Goldman, shown with his mom, Adrianna Jones and his little sister Kaylee, died from a gunshot wound June 30, 2023. “He loved the idea that when he was old enough that he wanted to play soccer,’’ she said. “He liked going to the park and had a crazy obsession for dinosaurs.”
