Birmingham City have hijacked Huddersfield Town’s deal for Alfie May and have had a bid accepted by Charlton Athletic, sources have told Football Insider.
May, who had been cleared to discuss personal terms with Huddersfield, will now hold talks with Birmingham – he has one year remaining on his contract at The Valley and Charlton are eyeing their opportunity to cash in on the demand. The 30-year-old’s contract status has made it hugely likely he will leave The Valley this summer, with rival clubs wasting no time in offering significant sums.
