Did you know one in every five workers in San Antonio is in the healthcare and bioscience industry?
SAN ANTONIO - is coming next week, featuring the industry that already employs nearly 200,000 people in our community. Biofest is a biomedical start up event designed to connect hundreds of startups and potential investors and resources in our community.
"Healthcare and Bioscience is the largest economic sector here in San Antonio," said Heather Hanson, CEO ofHanson says Biofest provides a platform for companies like VPS to showcase their work and recruit workers. She says it’s the largest economic sector that contributes over $44 billion to our local economy a year.
"As a small company, we’re able to hire interns from UTSA, biomedical engineers. We have an internship program to grow them and eventually we hire them full time," said Veraza.
