WAVERLY, Ohio - The last remaining suspect in the 2016 Pike County massacre, George "Billy" Wagner, returned to court for the first time in nearly a year on Monday.

Wagner is one of four family members accused of killing eight members of the Rhoden and Gilley families in April 2016. The other Wagners, including youngest son Jake, wife Angela, and older son George, have either pleaded guilty or been convicted and are serving sentences ranging from 30 years to life in prison. The appeal could delay the trial by five months to a year, as the Supreme Court hears only one to two percent of cases."It's a traumatic experience for the victims' family members and their relatives, as well as our client and his relatives and his mother specifically."
