Billy's cameo in Scream 6 doesn't look like Scream's Billy or even the real Skeet Ulrich. However, there's a clever reason for this weird disparity.
While Scream 6’s CGI Billy Loomis looks nothing like the Scream villain, there is a good reason for this apparent inconsistency. The process of using CGI to age characters down has been controversial ever since it was first introduced over a decade ago. Not only can this sometimes lead to an uncanny valley appearance where characters seem vaguely inhuman, but even very successful cases of CGI de-aging can run into another issue.

Skeet Ulrich's Scream 6 De-Aging Looks Nothing Like Billy In Scream Not only does Billy not look like his younger self in Scream 6 and Scream 2022, but in both movies, the character doesn’t even really look like what his actor Skeet Ulrich looks like today. One of Scream 6's biggest unanswered questions is why this ghostly vision of Billy looks nothing like his younger self or his real-life actor, but there is a potential justification for this choice.
It is unlikely that Sam would envision her father as his 17-year-old self since she would then be continuing to imagine a version of her dad who was younger than she is. This would be even weirder than Billy’s oddly de-aged appearance in Scream 6, which doesn’t look right because Sam has no idea what her dad would really look like as an adult. Billy’s appearance, while uncanny, does make sense if it is her mind imagining how he would have aged.
Billy Looking Old Still Makes Sense – Sam Wouldn't Imagine Him As A Teenager The fact that Billy looks nothing like himself could be a hint about where Sam’s story is heading in future Scream movies. In both Scream 2022 and Scream 6, Billy’s hallucinatory presence urges Sam to give into what he claims is her killer instinct.
