Billy Porter reveals he has to sell house due to Hollywood strikes, lives ‘check-to-check’
In his interview, Porter also blasted Disney CEO Bob Iger for claiming that WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikers were not being “realistic” with their demands.
“The business has evolved,” Porter, 53, said before noting the industry has changed due to streaming services becoming a main source of income for media giants. “So the contract has to evolve and change, period. To hear Bob Iger say that our demands for a living wage are unrealistic? While he makes $78,000 a day?”Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue“[But] that’s not useful, so I’ve kept my mouth shut,” Porter, who has been staying in London for the summer, added.The actor recently split from husband Adam Smith.
“The decision was an amicable and mutual one and was made after much consideration. They continue to love and support each other as they embark on this next chapter.”
