McFarland, who served time in prison for fraud, just can't let the dream go.

Recording artists and other celebrities hyped up the planned festival in the spring of 2017, but when ticketholders got there, they found little of what was promised and ended up taking shelter in FEMA tents. In 2018, McFarland pleaded guilty to wire fraud and was sentenced to six years in prison for Fyre Fest-related fraud and selling fake tickets to other events.McFarland responded to a tweet that suggested he should still be incarcerated.
“ in the best interest of those I owe for me to be working,” he said. “People aren’t getting paid back if i sit on the couch and watch tv. and because i served my time.”
