During COVID I watched a ton of movies at home, like everyone else. And I started to think, “This is pretty good! I’m in the comfort of my own home and I can be on my phone during the movie and I can take breaks.” Then we started to screenat packed movie theaters, and we all kept turning to each other and just saying, “Wow.” We had forgotten how special and how much fun that experience is.When we first started writing, it was 2017. It was a different time.
There is so much talk about how hard it is to make a theatrical rom-com or an R-rated comedy. What was the most rewarding part of making one for you?is the best thing I’ve ever done. Creatively, it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done and the most meaningful thing, professionally. We shot it in New York last fall and it was magical.
