You can't win with what they've given you,'" Goodman said regarding the Bulls. "So go to Carolina and have a chance to win the whole thing again and change your legacy a little bit from being a coach in the NBA that just hasn't had enough to win at a high level," he said.Donovan would bring a resume rich with college basketball coaching history. He coached the Florida Gators from 1996 to 2015, before leaving for the NBA. During that time, Donovan led the Gators to back-to-back championships in 2005-06 and 2006-07. He then took his talents to coaching in the professional league, first working with the Oklahoma City Thunder for multiple seasons, before switching to Chicago in 2020. However, his Bulls teams have only made the postseason once in his time as head coach. A lot will depend on whether Donovan remains loyal to the Bulls and Reinsdorf, or decides enough is enough, and listens to his circle of people suggesting he take over the UNC job.
