Landman's Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris and Sam Elliott as T.L. Norris
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Landman season 2's finale.Landman season 2 ended and turned the tables on Taylor Sheridan’s popular Paramount series, but with rumors circulating of the leading man, Billy Bob Thornton’s exit, the actor decided to set the record straight.
During a conversation with USA Today, Thornton addressed the ongoing rumors surrounding his exit from Landman as well as allegations that he has begun a relationship with his co-star, Demi Moore. When asked about the rumors circling online regarding the actor, Thornton responded that it’s"AI-generated crap." Thornton:"There's an AI report that Demi and I are a couple now, and there's one that I'm leaving the show. They have nothing to do with reality." Season 3 is set to begin production during the spring, and Thornton stated during the interview that"I'll be here as long as it plays out. If it's five years, great. If it's six, I'm there." While it’s unclear how season 2’s events will impact Thornton’s character, it’s obvious the actor has no desire to quit just yet. Landman is set in West Texas, as everyone is fighting to get rich quickly in the oil business, and oil rigs are slowly dominating the state. During season 2’s finale, Tommy Norris gathers people he trusts and wants them all to leave M-Tex and work for him due to getting fired by the company owner, Cami Miller . The Sheridan series has become Paramount+’s most-watched original series and broke records with its premiere. However, the ratings have divided critics and audiences, as many are undecided on whether the series is as good as its first season. Christian Wallace, who is a co-creator on Landman, hinted that the season 3 finale may not be a happy one, as reports state the series could premiere in the fall later this year. Wallace also confirmed fan-favorite Sam Elliott will return for the show’s third season as fans eagerly await what’s in store for Norris and his family.
