Ja'Marcus Ingram, a cornerback for the Buffalo Bills, took time out of his busy schedule to visit students at Ivan Green Primary School and share his story of perseverance and hard work through his new children's book.
Despite a busy schedule ahead of this Sunday's big playoff game, Bills cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram took some time Monday to visit students at East Irondequoit's Ivan Green Primary School. Ingram read some pages from his new children's book 'The Lil' Player That Could,' which tells his story of hard work and perseverance to make it to the NFL . He also took pictures, signed autographs and answered all the imaginative questions young students could think of.
'Seeing the kids smile, seeing the laughs and their faces and things like that, being able to share my story with them, I think will have a greater impact than anything I could do on the field,' Ingram explained. 'I'm using my story to give them motivation and inspiration and hope to chase whatever dream they have in life.' This visit was years in the making. After Ivan Green teacher Kelsey Flanagan met Ingram, a University at Buffalo graduate, during Bills training camp at St. John Fisher a few years ago, they have stayed in touch ever since
