NFL announces that football game between Bills and Bengals can wait at least a week.
"After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week."The league has not made any changes to the Week 18 regular season schedule.
From a football perspective, the contest had massive playoff implications – the Bills and Bengals in the mix for the AFC's first-round bye and home-field advantage along with the Kansas City Chiefs. Buffalo and Cincinnati also have Week 18 contests that could decide the AFC North title and other considerations, such as whether the New England Patriots – they're scheduled to play in Orchard Park, New York, on Sunday – qualify for the postseason.
