The world's top 10 billionaires added $426 billion to their wealth and are worth a combined $ 1.5 trillion, new research showed.
The world's 10 wealthiest people are now worth a combined $1.5 trillion, a new report said.'The Top 10 added $426 billion, 56 percent of total new wealth, and are worth $1.5 trillion, making up 10 percent of the total list,' said Hurun Report, a research company based in China, in its 2024 Global Rich List.'Eight are from the USA and one from each of France and India,' the report added.
This year's list showed the meteoric rise of Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest member of the top 10 by more than a decade. The 39-year-old saw his wealth leap to $158 billion as Meta's stock value more than doubled, securing him a place in the top 10. Also rising to the top 10 is former Google CEO Larry Page, with a net worth of $123 billion, underscoring the tech industry's substantial influence on global wealth.
