The Illawarra offering comes amid a boom in pub transactions across the country.
Billionaire Bruce Gordon is looking to cash in on the booming trade in pubs, with his WIN Corporation putting the Scarborough Hotel on the market, the first time in four decades the well-known Illawarra venue has been offered for sale.
WIN Corporation chief executive Andrew Lancaster said while the hotel had been a strong asset for the company, it was time for a new owner to take on the property and its prospects. The 94-year-old Rich Lister is also an active player in the property market in the NSW south coast region. Last month, he secured approval, a project that had angered some local residents because it blocked their beach views.
