He also said that he will try to work with the Trump administration and offered praise for the president. “My foundation has the U.S. government—both for research and delivery in health—as a key partner, and I will do my best to work with this Administration. I got his ear for three hours. He couldn’t have been nicer. Doesn’t mean that other people won’t come in and say the H.I.V. money should be cut, but I did my best," he said. A number of billionaires, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Tesla owner Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, flocked to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Trump after the election. Musk has emerged as Trump’s top adviser and has been tapped to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency to slash government spending.
