Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday for testing and observation after developing a fever, according to Angel Ureña, his Deputy Chief of Staff. It is not an emergency situation, NBC News first reported. Clinton is in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving, Ureña posted on X, formerly Twitter. Ureña told CNN that the former president hoped to be discharged and home by Christmas.
Since leaving office in 2001, Clinton has encountered several health concerns. In 2004, he underwent a quadruple bypass operation and in 2010, he had another heart procedure. Clinton responded by embracing a largely vegan diet that saw him lose weight and report improved health. Additionally, in 2021, he was hospitalized for six days in California due to a sepsis infection. This fall, the 78-year-old was active on the campaign trail for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. He has also maintained a busy travel schedule since the election, following the release of his new book, 'Citizen: My Life After the White House.
