While much of the conversation around the Steelers has centered around who will be the starting quarterback, Bill Belichick sounded the alarm about other personnel issues on their offense.
Belichick appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday and was asked about the debate centered on whether Russell Wilson or Justin Fields should be the team’s Week 1 starter.
He seemed to favor Wilson, who is less turnover-prone than Fields, but then talked about more glaring issues for the offense."I think the Steelers need to get their running game and the offensive line playing consistently..“I think they have bigger problems than at the quarterback position. The defense is, you know, a pretty solid unit,” Belichick said,. “The offensive line had a hard time being consistent there.
“They need to get the running game going, they have good backs, they need to get those backs started,” Belichick continued. “Russell’s good out of the pocket. But I think the problems are bigger than Russell Wilson.
