The cost of living crisis is squeezing households so hard that many Britons are sacrificing their own meals so their pets can eat. This speaks volumes about the compassionate nature of our nation, says Bill Bailey 🎙️ Interview:
is aiming to raise a minimum of £40,000 in December. It will match funding, meaning every £1 donated between 29 November and 6 December will be doubled, up to £20,000. The campaign will run until the end of the month.
The money that is raised will go primarily towards supporting small charities that are helping people and their dogs in the cost of living crisis, whether that bewho are ensuring that dogs can remain in the home with their owners, or funding rescues where dogs have been surrendered. “Just £5 will make a huge difference for a dog in rescue this festive season and could feed a small dog for a week,” says Kennel Club Chair of Trustees, Reverend Bill King.
“For those really struggling at the moment, there are pet food banks across the UK where owners can go for support in their time of need,” he said.
