Hate crimes detectives are looking for the bike-riding bigot in Brooklyn who assaulted a Jewish man on the street this past weekend.

The NYPD released video Tuesday morning showing the perpetrator behind the attack, which occurred in Williamsburg at about 1:38 a.m. on Oct. 23 near the corner of Penn Street and Lee Avenue.

Authorities said the assailant approached an 18-year-old male, who was wearing Jewish religious garb at the time, and punched him in the back of the head. The unprovoked blow knocked the teenager’s hat and yarmulke to be knocked off his head and to the ground, police reported. The incident was reported to the, which subsequently referred the matter to the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force. Police said the victim did not suffer serious physical injury.

Anti-Semitic hate crimes have been on the rise in recent weeks. September 2022 saw 20 such incidents citywide, the NYPD reported earlier this month, an increase of two from the 18 anti-Semitic attacks that occurred in September 2021. As shown in the video police provided, the suspect is pictured riding an e-bike through the area while wearing a blue-and-white Knicks jacket, dark blue jeans and white sneakers.
