Let's face it. Game of Thrones was eight seasons of weekly WTF moments. Almost every episode featured a shocking moment that has gone down in history. From mysteries around every corner, gobsmacking storylines, and murders that left us blindsided, it was best to never have a favorite character because chances are, they weren't going to make it!
7 The Meaning of Hodor's Name Is Revealed Season 6, Episode 5 "The Door" Listen, Season 6 had some wild moments. Melisandre's drastic, feeble body is revealed. Daenerys emerging from the fires. Jon Snow's resurrection. Arya Stark kills the Freys. Ramsay Bolton is fed to the hounds while Sansa Stark watches. Cersei burning the Sept. The reality is, these are expected moments in this world. The biggest WTF moment came thanks to the revelation of Hodor .

Even with immense swagger and the ability to taunt a giant killing machine, the Viper is no match for the Mountain. Oberyn had the upper hand in the battle, stabbing Gregor with a poison-laced spear, but before he could expire, Gregor trips his opponent and shows no mercy. Literally.

Perhaps being the man in charge isn't always the best, as it allows the inferiors to band together for the most shocking betrayal thus far in the show's story.
