NRL immortal and the three-time premiership -winning Canberra Raiders captain Mal Meninga is returning to the club where he was a champion in a newly formed role designed to push the green machine to its next title.
It could mirror the role he played for five years at the Gold Coast Titans from 2018-2023, a period that ended with the sacking of coach Justin Holbrook.Canberra has not won an NRL premiership since 1994, when Meninga was captain, reaching only one decider since then, in 2019, going down to the Sydney Roosters.
“Mal will work with coach Ricky Stuart and CEO Don Furner and with staff and players to continue to elevate and enhance our club in the game in Canberra, Australia and internationally.”
