Big Brother's Jared Fields explains his actions.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Big Brother's most recent evicted houseguest Jared Fields had a tough time in the house and just spoke out about his controversial actions within the game for the first time.
Jared, who is the son of Survivor legend and Big Brother 25 houseguest Cirie Fields, played the game with his mother throughout his time on the show, keeping their relationship a secret from the majority of the other houseguests. During his time in the house, Jared was often heard using misogynist and ableist language, even calling another houseguest an ableist slur in a heated moment. Jared's actions have been polarizing, to say the least. In an interview with Parade, Jared shared that while he understands the gravity of the situation surrounding his word choice, "Disabilities are something that I would never use to my advantage." Jared, who also sparked controversy when he implied that deaf Big Brother 25 houseguest Matt Klotz had misunderstood something he'd said due to his disability, explained, "I never want to put on somebody else to make them stressed out or make them feel as if they're anything less than anybody else in his house." While he did discuss the incidents, Jared pointedly did not apologize for his actions. Jared Fields Wishes He Could Change "One Thing" About Big Brother Gameplay Jared, who had a fight with Big Brother 25's Cory Wurtenberger that blew up his game from the inside out, shared with EW the one thing he would change about his gameplay. Jared explained, "If I could change absolutely one thing, it would be not using Cameron as a replacement nominee." During his last Head Of Household reign, Cory was taken down from the nomination block and Cameron Hardin was used as a replacement nominee next to America Lopez. Jared shared that he would've "put somebody next to America to pretty much guarantee her way out the door" if he could do it all again. Jared's comments in his post-eviction interviews have seemed to try and pull the narrative away from his controversies and focus it on his gameplay. While Jared was a competitor in the Big Brother 25 house, several of his competition wins came as a default, and his confidence in his gameplay might be unearned. Coming into the house with an extreme advantage as his reality TV legend mom Cirie was there to help him, it was clear that Jared felt over-confident about his position in the game. From his use of ableist language to his inflated ego, it seems his downfall was far more internal than even he realizes.As Big Brother 25 continues, the houseguests will be pushed further and further into the competition, with things getting tougher as the days go by. With this season being the longest in Big Brother history at 100 days, the houseguests are just past the halfway mark. As Jared returns to normal life, it's possible he will be watching the competition unfold from home and offer his commentary on the remaining houseguests' gameplay. With Big Brother 25 still rolling ahead, Jared may be able to look back and reflect sooner rather than later. Big Brother season 25 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
