K-pop boy band Big Bang members Taeyang and Daesung have left YG Entertainment, which has been their agency for 16 years since debuting in 2006.

YG Entertainment announced on Dec. 26 that Taeyang has left the agency and transferred to The Black Label, an associate company where YG holds a 30 percent stake.“Big Bang’s Taeyang will be active as an artist under The Black Label, a company affiliated with YG. There is no change in the fact that he is a family member of YG and a member of Big Bang,” YG Entertainment said.“Daesung has decided to terminate his contract and is currently seeking a fresh start.

Big Bang debuted with five members. In 2019, Seungri left the group and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry after being embroiled in the Burning Sun club controversy. He was convicted for different crimes and was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. Seungri will be released from the Yeoju Prison, located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, in February after completing his prison sentence.Meanwhile, G-Dragon is discussing with YG Entertainment about contract renewal.
