President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden hosted young children and their families at the White House Monday for Biden's second Easter Egg Roll as president.
The Bidens opted to carry over 2022's theme,"EGGucation," over into 2023, which White House officials say will transform"the South Lawn and Ellipse into a school community, full of fun educational activities for children of all ages to enjoy." The president did not host the annual event in 2021 due to COVID-19 distancing requirements.
White House officials estimate that 30,000 people,"including thousands of military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors," will take part in this year's roll. Biden, who is expected to seek reelection but has not indicated when a campaign announcement will be made, reiterated to NBC's Al Roker that he's"planning on running" but is"not prepared to announce it yet."
