President Joe Biden warned graduates at the historically Black Morehouse College Sunday of the 'extremists' they may soon face.

Biden’s address touched on topics such as faith and racism while including nods to the Jan. 6 riots and the murder of George Floyd. He connected some of these topics to his reelection campaign, encouraging the graduates to vote him back into office in November. What is democracy if Black men are being killed in the street?” Biden asked. “If Black men are being killed on the streets, we bear witness. For me, that means to call out the poison of white supremacy, to root out systemic racism.”“But, graduates, this is what we’re up against: extremist forces aligned against the meaning and message of Morehouse,” Biden said. “And they peddle a fiction, a caricature what being a man is about — tough talk, abusing power, bigotry.
Biden closed the speech by noting “we’re expecting a lot” from the Morehouse graduates. For his speech, the Morehouse faculty awarded Biden with an honorary “doctor of laws” degree.
