Facing criticism that he hasn’t done enough to stop illegal border crossings, President Joe Biden heads Sunday to the U.S.-Mexico border to assess the growing crisis and review enforcement operations.
of turning back illegal migrants from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Haiti and Cuba will stand even if the Supreme Court overturns Title 42. At the same time, the U.S. said it would accept 30,000 migrants per month from those four nations for two years if they have eligible sponsors, pass vetting and background checks and don't attempt to cross the southwest border.

We are feeling the effects of decades of failed and outdated immigration policy." –Rep.
"It’s about time President Biden visited the border to see for himself the crisis his open border policies have created." – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been a relentless critic of Biden's border policies, in a Twitter post. Abbott's office did not respond to a question on whether the Republican, who this month will begin his third term, would greet the Democratic president in El Paso.
